Job Description
At Woodnork Green (WNG), we are dedicated to creating meaningful and lasting connections through our products. We are a specialized branding agency focused on signage, fit-outs, exhibition builds, and event branding. The Technical Designer is responsible for converting creative concepts into production-ready technical outputs that can be costed, approved, fabricated, installed, quality checked, and closed without ambiguity.
Role Overview
This position bridges the gap between artistic vision and manufacturing. You will translate concepts into precise technical drawings and support the production team to ensure high-quality fabrication in wood and metal.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Interpretation and Detailing: Interpret creative concepts and provide accurate technical detailing.
Production-Ready Drawings: Translate concepts into shop drawings, fabrication details, or installation packages.
Production Support: Support the design interpretation during the production phase.
Material Specification: Define material requirements and build-ups for various projects.
Visual Development: Create 2D and 3D technical visuals to guide stakeholders and fabricators.
Quality Control: Support quality control processes to ensure final products meet technical standards.
Requirements
Education: Diploma or Degree in Technical Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, Mechanical Drafting, or a related field.
Training: Professional training in CAD and technical drawing software.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience preparing production drawings, shop drawings, or fabrication details.
Industry Knowledge: Experience working with fabrication, signage, fit-out, exhibition build, or event branding environments (specifically wood and metal build-ups).
Process Knowledge: Familiarity with revisions, document control, and design-to-production coordination.
Software and Tools
Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
3D software (SketchUp, 3ds Max, Blender, or similar)
CAD knowledge (AutoCAD or similar) is an added advantage
