Teacher of English & Literature

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare a structured programme of study for each class taught with clearly stated aims and objectives, allowing for differentiation between students of different abilities.
• Prepare lesson plans and teach individual lessons.
• Mark class work and homework and assess achievement according to agreed Faculty policy.
• Contribute to curriculum development and assimilate elements of the British National Curriculum as appropriate.
• Include information technology elements in schemes of work in consultation with the IT department staff.
• Attend meetings, including parent consultation meetings, as required or scheduled.
• Participate in the duty rota as scheduled.
• Ensure that the school's ethics and philosophy are reflected in your teaching.
• Cover for absent colleagues and invigilate examinations as required.
• Promote the image of the school and perform other duties assigned by the Director and Core Management Team.

Requirements:

• Be well qualified, enthusiastic, and dedicated.
• Hold a university degree in English, Literature, or a related subject (BA/BSc).
• Have a passion for education, innovation, and technology.
• Enjoy teamwork and be an excellent classroom practitioner who ensure good progress for all students.
• Possess a vision for outstanding teaching and learning.
• Have excellent organisational skills.
• Maintain a positive attitude and approach to change and development.
