Embu University College (formerly Embu Agricultural Staff Training College) is looking to recruit a Games Attendant. The successful candidate will play a key role in the sports department, primarily focusing on fitness instruction, personal training, and managing gym activities within a busy university environment. The role requires a candidate who is physically fit, possesses coaching certifications, and has the interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
Responsibilities
Provide professional instruction in gym and aerobics sessions.
Act as a personal trainer for clients within the university gym.
Oversee the safety of participants and ensure proper use of gym equipment.
Administer First Aid when required during sports or fitness activities.
Utilize basic computer skills for record-keeping and administrative tasks related to the games department.
Promote health and fitness across the university community.
Requirements
Must possess a Certificate in Coaching (specifically as a Gym and Aerobics Instructor).
Must have a minimum qualification of KCSE D+ (plus) or KCE DIV IV.
Must hold a valid certificate in First Aid.
Have at least two (2) years of experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or in a similar role in a busy gym.
Possess basic computer skills.
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Added Advantage: Certification in Zumba, massage, or other sports disciplines.
