The Teacher of Chemistry role involves preparing, teaching, and assessing students in Chemistry, contributing to curriculum development, and maintaining the school's high educational and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a structured programme of study for each class taught with clearly stated aims and objectives, and with evidence of allowing for differentiation between students of different abilities.
- Prepare lesson plans and teach individual lessons.
- Mark class work and homework and assess achievement according to agreed Faculty policy.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assimilate elements of the British National Curriculum as appropriate.
- Include elements of information technology in schemes of work in consultation with the IT department staff.
- Attend meetings, including parent consultation meetings, as required, scheduled, and/or necessary.
- Be involved in the duty rota, as scheduled.
- Ensure that the ethics of the school as expressed in the school philosophy are clearly reflected in your teaching.
- Cover for absent colleagues and invigilate examinations as required.
- Promote the image of the school.
- Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned to you by the Director and the Core Management Team.
