The Narok County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit four (4) qualified individuals for the position of Supply Chain Management Assistant II. The role is critical in supporting the county's procurement and logistics infrastructure, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the management of public resources. This position is graded under salary scale CPSB 10.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing store operations, including the receipt and issuance of goods.
- Assisting in the formal procurement process through the opening of bids.
- Maintaining and regularly updating the official suppliers’ database.
- Facilitating transparency by publicizing information regarding tender awards.
- Conducting comprehensive market surveys to ensure value for money in procurement.
- Participating in periodic and annual stock-taking exercises to verify inventory accuracy.
- Implementing and monitoring security and safety protocols within the storage facilities.
- Executing any other lawful duties assigned by the supervisor to support departmental goals.
Requirements for Appointment
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, having served in the grade of Supply Chain Management Assistant III or a comparable role in the public or private sector.
- A Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Procurement and Logistics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Professional membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
- A Certificate in computer application skills.
- Possession of a Certificate of Associate in Procurement and Supply of Kenya (APS-K) II, Advanced Certificate in Supplies Management (ACISM), or Advanced Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) UK will be considered a distinct advantage.
Additional Information
- Salary Scale (CPSB 10): Ksh. 34,420 to Ksh. 46,120 per month plus applicable allowances.
- Mandatory Clearances: Shortlisted candidates will need to provide current clearances from KRA, HELB, a registered CRB, and the DCI (Police Clearance Certificate).
- Ethics Compliance: A self-declaration form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) will be required for shortlisted candidates.
