Athena Consulting is an international business advisory and human capital consulting company based in Nairobi. We are seeking a Recruitment Specialist to manage our end-to-end talent acquisition process. This role involves collaborating with hiring managers, sourcing high-quality candidates across various channels, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to headhunting and a strong commitment to maintaining our corporate values and excellence in recruitment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration with Hiring Managers
- Understand hiring requirements through open communication with hiring managers.
- Gather comprehensive information using job description templates, including duties, metrics, and hiring plans.
Sourcing and Searching
- Post open positions in the Athena Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Utilize various sourcing channels (job portals, social media, LinkedIn, referral programs, and personal networks).
- Coordinate with Recruitment Marketing Specialists for sourcing materials.
Candidate Processing and Evaluation
- Manage the candidate pool, administer exams/tests, and conduct final interviews.
- Prepare corporate profiles for qualified candidates.
- Share interview feedback and hiring decisions with candidates via email.
Endorsement and Onboarding
- Endorse qualified candidates to hiring managers and coordinate interview schedules.
- Manage job offers and coordinate with third-party partners for background investigations.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires.
Continuous Improvement and Reporting
- Regularly submit reports on vacancy statuses.
- Build Athena's reputation to attract passive applicants and maintain a candidate database.
- Develop testing tools for basic skills, supervisory, and leadership competencies.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in headhunting and executive search.
Performance Metrics
- Sense of Urgency: Demonstrate urgency in closing tasks.
- Project Management: Effectively manage plans to achieve goals.
- Timeliness: Prompt submission of reports and email responses.
- Quality/Retention: Target 90-day retention for new hires.
- Time to Hire: 30 days for non-working candidates, 60 days for working candidates.
- Cost per Hire: Maintain recruitment costs within the approved budget.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: BA/BSc/HND degree.
- Experience: At least 5 years of work experience in end-to-end corporate recruitment.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of recruitment processes, candidate selection, boolean searches, and job portals.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, listening, and time management skills.
- Project Management: Strong multitasking and project management abilities.
- Attributes: Creative thinker and proactive problem solver.
- Clearance: A valid police clearance is required for successful candidates.
