Special Needs Teachers

Mirema School, a Christian-based primary school offering the 2.6.6.3/8.4.4 curriculum, International British Curriculum, and Special Needs Curriculum, is seeking qualified Special Needs Teachers. The ideal candidates will create an inclusive, safe, and spiritually enriching environment that fosters the holistic development of each child.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each learner.
• Adapt lesson plans and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Deliver inclusive lessons using multisensory teaching methods.
• Provide targeted one-on-one or small group support when needed.
• Support learners with behavioral or emotional challenges using positive strategies.
• Create a calm, safe, and encouraging learning environment.
• Conduct assessments to identify learner abilities and needs.
• Track progress and update parents and school administration regularly.
• Work with teachers, therapists, and parents to support learner growth.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to learner support plans.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant teaching experience in a classroom setup as a Special Needs Teacher or an equivalent position in a reputable organization.
• Degree or Diploma in special needs education.
• Valid TSC registration Number.
• Proficiency in Computer Applications.
