Job Description
As a Shop Manager in Wote, you will be responsible for driving the performance of a Safaricom dealer outlet. This critical role involves managing the daily sales of Safaricom products and services, ensuring exceptional customer experience, and providing leadership to shop staff. You will oversee inventory, financial reconciliations, and compliance with telecommunications regulations to ensure the shop's success and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Performance Management
Drive sales of Safaricom products and services including SIM cards, M-PESA, airtime, bundles, and value-added services.
Manage the sale of mobile phones and accessories from Safaricom and other approved brands.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets are consistently met or exceeded.
Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, motivation, and guidance.
Execute marketing campaigns and sales promotions as directed by management.
Customer Service & Experience
Maintain high standards of customer service and professional shop presentation.
Advise customers on suitable devices and Safaricom services based on their requirements.
Resolve customer complaints and escalations professionally and timely.
Staff Supervision & Management
Supervise, schedule, and manage shop staff performance.
Train team members on Safaricom products, technical specifications, and service standards.
Enforce company policies regarding attendance, discipline, and conduct.
Stock & Inventory Management
Oversee stock levels for all devices, accessories, and airtime.
Perform accurate stock tracking, reconciliation, and reporting to prevent loss or fraud.
Coordinate inventory replenishment with suppliers and management.
M-PESA Operations & Compliance
Manage M-PESA float levels and daily transactions according to Safaricom guidelines.
Enforce KYC (Know Your Customer), data protection, and anti-fraud policies.
Maintain accurate records and reporting for all M-PESA activities.
Financial Management & Reporting
Conduct daily sales reconciliations and ensure secure cash handling.
Prepare and submit detailed operational and financial reports.
Ensure compliance with internal audits and financial procedures.
Requirements
Education: Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience in sales and customer service, preferably within a telecommunications or Safaricom dealer environment.
Leadership: At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role is highly preferred.
Track Record: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and expand market share.
