Kirinyaga University is seeking qualified and dedicated candidates for the position of Security Guard/ Guardette Grade 3. The primary role is to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of University property, personnel, students, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake routine and specialized security patrols across campus.
Ensure the integrity and security of the University perimeter fence.
Protect University property and assets against loss, theft, and damage.
Enforce University rules, policies, and regulations.
Assist in firefighting and emergency response operations.
Maintain law, order, and general public peace within the University grounds.
Manage traffic control and vehicle parking within campus premises.
Undertake surveillance duties to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
Vet staff, visitors, and students accessing or exiting University premises.
Prevent crime and apprehend suspects in accordance with institutional guidelines.
Report and accurately record all security incidents promptly.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Certificate.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in security service.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
National Youth Service (NYS) training or prior service/training in disciplined forces.
