PAC Africa is recruiting a results-driven and customer-focused Sales Associate on behalf of a reputable steel manufacturing company serving contractors, distributors, and industrial buyers across Nairobi and the wider Kenyan market. The successful candidate will support the commercial team in driving sales of steel products, building strong client relationships, and ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
Attend to walk-in customers and respond to product and pricing inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Provide accurate information on the company’s steel products, specifications, and available stock.
Guide customers through product selection and recommend suitable steel grades or product types where appropriate.
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate unresolved matters to the supervisor.
Sales Transactions
Process cash, credit, and mobile money payments including M-Pesa with accuracy and efficiency.
Issue receipts, invoices, and delivery notes in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain complete and orderly documentation of all daily sales transactions.
Stock Handling
Assist with stock receiving, counting, and organized arrangement of steel products in the yard and storage areas.
Monitor stock levels continuously and report shortages or near-out-of-stock items to the supervisor.
Ensure all products are correctly labelled, categorized, and accessible for efficient customer service.
Record Keeping
Maintain accurate daily sales records and perform end-of-shift cash reconciliation.
Update sales systems or manual registers promptly and without errors.
Support the preparation of periodic sales summaries and reports as directed by management.
Housekeeping & Compliance
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales and yard environment at all times.
Adhere to all company policies, operational procedures, and workplace safety standards.
Safeguard company assets and report any discrepancies, losses, or suspicious activity immediately.
Requirements
Education
Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (required).
Additional training or certification in industrial sales, supply chain, or customer relationship management is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a sale, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience processing M-Pesa transactions and working with POS or manual cash registers.
Prior exposure to industrial or B2B sales, stock management, or yard operations is highly desirable.

Ability to quickly learn and communicate technical product specifications for steel and related materials.
Good verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
