Research Assistants

Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to the Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013. KEMRI serves as the National body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. This role focuses on supporting medical research activities, primarily through meticulous data management and field coordination within health facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Timely extraction of data from patients’ charts.
• Verify the quality of data by comparing abstracted data to source documents.
• Ensure facilities have adequate data collection tools and request necessary supplies for the project.
• Liaise with the health facility staff to ensure project activities are conducted as scheduled.
• Provide the project management team with regular feedback on field activities.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements (Mandatory):

• Diploma in Community Health, Public Health, or equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• Proficiency in Computer applications.
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
