Equity Bank is looking for a Regional Relationship Manager for the SME segment in the North-Eastern region. This role focuses on driving business growth, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring the quality of the loan book within the designated region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing financial plans, conducting business visits, and leading teams to achieve strategic targets.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Business Development\n* Develop and implement annual and quarterly financial plans and budgets for the region.\n* Manage borrowing and non-borrowing customers to boost customer loyalty and reduce risk.\n* Lead and direct efforts within the segments to grow the business and achieve set targets.\n* Cultivate relationships with existing and potential customers, identifying market opportunities and insights.\n* Maintain a sustainable, profitable, and high-quality balance sheet by managing key financial metrics.\n* Enforce cost optimization strategies to maximize resource efficiency.\n\n#### Market & Customer Service\n* Collaborate with regional business stakeholders to develop and implement sales initiatives.\n* Analyze market intelligence to identify new markets, customer trends, and policy changes.\n* Represent and promote the Bank as its brand ambassador in all interactions.\n* Position Equity Bank Kenya as the preferred banking choice in the market.\n* Ensure strict adherence to the Bank’s customer service standards and policies.\n\n#### Audit Risk & Compliance\n* Ensure the loan book quality across various segments meets established standards.\n* Participate in the Regional Credit Committee in accordance with policy guidelines.\n* Enforce adherence to policies and procedures set by regulatory authorities and Equity Bank.\n* Develop and implement effective Business Continuity Plans for each segment.\n* Drive improvements in audit and risk ratings for the region.\n\n#### People Management\n* Ensure the recruitment and retention of skilled human resources to deliver exceptional service.\n* Manage succession planning at the segment level for key positions.\n* Mentor and coach staff to build their capacity and enhance performance.\n* Foster a positive work environment and conduct weekly performance reviews.\n* Identify staffing gaps and advise on optimal deployment across branches.\n\n#### Performance & Reporting\n* Optimize the Bank’s Management Information System (MIS) to manage staff performance.\n* Ensure proper segmentation of the client database and implement targeted marketing strategies.\n* Submit relevant and timely reports to key stakeholders to support decision-making.\n\n### Requirements\n* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.\n* At least eight (8) years of experience in commercial credit, financial analysis, or banking.\n* Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Business Client Advisor or similar role.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified?
