This role is responsible for supporting DIB Bank Kenya's ability to anticipate, prepare, respond, and recover from disruptive events, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations. The Assistant Manager – Resiliency will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational resilience strategies across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Policy and Process Management: Establish and maintain Business Continuity Planning (BCP) policies and processes. Stay updated with regulations and guidelines specific to business continuity management and recommend improvements and updates to policies, standards, and procedures.
Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization’s operations, systems, and infrastructure.
Disaster Recovery Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical business functions and systems. Ensure these plans are updated based on evolving risks and business needs.
Business Impact Analysis (BIA): Coordinate the bank's BIA process to identify critical business functions, assess the potential impact of disruptions, and determine steps to maintain business continuity.
Crisis Management: Support the management of risk events and incidents, coordinating response efforts to minimize operational disruption.
Third-Party Risk Management: Assist the business in recommending appropriate resilience and continuity frameworks for managing third-party relationships.
Training and Awareness: Design training programs to promote business continuity awareness, ensure compliance, and report regularly on program status.
Management Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management, the BCMP Team, Crisis Management Team (CMT), and the board on operational resilience, risks, incidents, and plan effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in operational resilience practices, leveraging lessons learned from testing, incidents, and risk assessments.
Documentation and Communication: Ensure all resilience and continuity documentation (self-assessments, policies, procedures, and plans) is current, accurate, and communicated to relevant stakeholders. Ensure alignment and integration of BCM across all business units.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Certifications: A professional certification in MBCI/CBCP/ BCI-MBCI, DRII-CFCP, ISO 22301, CBCM, or EC-Council Disaster Recovery Professional (EDRP).
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery experience, four (4) of which should be in Risk Management.
