Position Overview
As a Regional Business Manager, you will oversee operations across 2–3 counties and lead teams of coaches and agribusiness entrepreneurs. This is a full-time, field-based role requiring approximately 70% travel. The core focus is on achieving business targets, building strategic alliances, and generating sustainable revenue within key Kenyan agricultural value chains. The position requires strong autonomy and a highly results-oriented approach in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead regional operations, ensuring team performance and business objectives are met.
- Drive revenue growth through commercial initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with critical stakeholders, including farmer groups, cooperatives, input providers, financial services, and market players.
- Supervise coaches and entrepreneurs, monitoring their performance through digital systems.
- Deliver measurable results, specifically significant private revenue generation per region.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Business Management, Rural Development, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in field-based agricultural extension, sales, or community mobilisation.
- At least 3 years of that experience must be in supervisory roles managing teams of over 50 individuals.
- Proven track record in revenue generation or partnership development in the agriculture sector.
- Experience with farmer groups or cooperatives is preferred.
Skills and Certifications
- Valid Kenyan driving license is required (motorbike riding ability is essential).
- Certification in Project Management and Sales is preferred.
