Job Description
This role involves working as a Receptionist/Front Office Agent at Tamarind Group, which owns and operates successful restaurants and leisure operations in Africa, founded in Mombasa. The company focuses on continually improving service quality and value, developing excellent employee morale, and maintaining superior social and environmental awareness.
This position is critical for managing the first point of contact for guests and ensuring smooth front office operations.
Key Responsibilities
Professionally handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate extensions.
Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
Administer reservations, cancellations, and guest billing accurately.
Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a courteous and timely manner.
Maintain accurate records and front office documentation.
Ensure the reception area is consistently clean, organized, and presentable.
Manage petty cash and reception float in accordance with company procedures.
Report maintenance, breakage, or cleanliness issues to the relevant department.
Adhere to company policies, including health, safety, and fire procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Skills: Proven experience in reservations, guest relations, and billing processes.
Technical Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in hotel management systems (Opera or similar) and general computer applications.
