The Quality Inspector will oversee the daily inspection of inline processes by collecting and collating data which is used to advise the Manufacturing/Filling teams on any nonconformities and corrective actions with the aim of process improvement.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Analyze all Work-in-Progress (W.I.P.) product samples daily for quality, durability, safety, and known product specifications before the final stage of production and record quality inspection results.
Verify the quality of raw materials, in-process, and finished products against specifications.
Identify and liaise with production for the segregation of non-conforming products at the production lines, updating daily log sheets and other process documents.
Observe finished goods handling and identify practices likely to cause damage to the product.
Inspect transport vessels (trucks and containers) to ascertain their condition prior to loading/stuffing with finished goods.
Verify proper documentation of all products before dispatch.
Perform housekeeping in line with Gemba Kaizen principles.
Provide timely feedback on production quality inspection results and propose improvements to the production process.
Update the Quality Management Database (e.g., SAP) with inline process inspections and incoming material inputs.
Train the production team on Quality Control measures to improve product excellence.
Maintain measurement equipment, ensuring accurate operation by following calibration requirements and requesting repairs when necessary.
Monitor the use of equipment to ensure safety and report any that does not meet requirements.
Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities such as toolbox talks and regular training.
Check that assembly or production lines adhere to standards, procedures, and comply with legal requirements.
Perform incoming material inspections, review blueprints, and specifications to compare produced goods.
Document quality assurance practices by entering data into log sheets, noting information in computer databases, and recording all inventory and actions.
Inspect output samples using company (PROTO) methods, such as comparing to standards, measurement dimensions, and examining functionalities in the lab.
Perform any other duty as assigned by the Supervisor and Management.
Qualifications and Experience
Technical College Diploma or University Technical Degree.
Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge in interpretation of process data.
Experience in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
Proficiency in evaluating inline inspection data and advising manufacturing/filling on areas of improvement.
Ability to advise on corrective action measures for defects captured.
Physical stamina and strength with the ability to stand for long hours during process inspections.
Certifications in ISO, TQMS, OSH, or First Aid are an added advantage.
Possession of an RT license.
Basic computer knowledge.
A mandatory Certificate of Good Conduct.
