KCA University (KCAU) is seeking to recruit qualified academic staff for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer in the field of Software Development and Computer Programming. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the university's academic and professional growth.
General Responsibilities
- Teach and facilitate learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
- Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula.
- Attract research funding through grants and collaborations, lead research teams, and supervise postgraduate students (Masters and PhD).
- Mentor junior faculty, guide early-career researchers, and support staff development.
- Serve on university committees, boards, and contribute to policy formulation.
- Maintain records of student progress, achievement, and attendance, and ensure exam records are updated promptly.
- Foster partnerships, consultancy, and outreach initiatives that enhance the University’s visibility and impact.
- Undertake continuous professional development and training.
Rank-Specific Requirements
1. Professor
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as an Associate Professor.
- Research: Minimum of six (6) publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Supervision: Supervised a minimum of three (3) masters and two (2) PhD students to completion.
- Funding: Attracted research/development funds as a Co-PI in at least two projects.
- Qualifications: Earned PhD in the relevant field.
2. Associate Professor
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer.
- Research: Minimum of five (5) publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Supervision: Supervised a minimum of three (3) Masters and one (1) PhD student to completion.
- Funding: Attracted research/development funds in at least two projects.
- Qualifications: Earned PhD in the relevant field.
3. Senior Lecturer
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience as a Lecturer OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
- Research: Minimum of four (4) publications in reputable refereed journals since the last promotion.
- Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) master’s students to completion.
- Funding: Attracted research/development funds in at least one project.
- Qualifications: Earned PhD in the relevant field.
4. Lecturer
- Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the university level, in research, or in industry.
- Research: Minimum of two (2) publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
- Qualifications: Earned PhD in the relevant field.
