St. Joseph’s Technical Institute for the Deaf, Nyang’oma is seeking a qualified Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy Trainer to join its faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for training students in both theoretical and practical skills, ensuring they meet the required standards for vocational certification. This role is pivotal in providing inclusive education and technical skills to students within the institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality training and instruction in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy courses.
Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of students' progress and practical competence.
Supervise students during practical sessions to ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
Assist in the development, implementation, and review of the training curriculum.
Maintain training equipment and ensure efficient use of supplies and materials.
Keep and update accurate records of student attendance and academic performance.
Provide guidance and mentorship to students to prepare them for the job market.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy or Cosmetology.
A Diploma or Craft certificate in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Must be licensed by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
At least 2 years of professional experience in training or within the beauty industry.
Proficiency in computer applications (Computer literate).
A valid Certificate of Good Conduct is required.
