KCA University (KCAU) is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to fill several academic positions within the Finance department. The roles range from Lecturer to Professor, each contributing to the university's academic excellence through teaching, research, and institutional leadership.
General Responsibilities
Teach and facilitate learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula.
Contribute to building a strong academic culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation.
Conduct research, produce publications, and apply for research grants.
Supervise postgraduate students as assigned.
Provide academic advising and feedback to students.
Participate in departmental and university committees.
Maintain accurate academic and examination records.
Specific Rank Requirements and Responsibilities
Professor
Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching at a University as an Associate Professor.
Scholarly Output: Minimum of six (6) publications in reputable refereed journals since last promotion.
Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) master's and two (2) PhD students to completion since last appointment.
Funding: Attracted research or development funds as at least a Co-PI in two projects.
Leadership: Mentor junior faculty, guide early-career researchers, and serve on university boards and the senate.
Associate Professor
Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching at a University as a Senior Lecturer.
Scholarly Output: Minimum of five (5) publications in reputable refereed journals since last promotion.
Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) master's and one (1) PhD student to completion since last appointment.
Funding: Attracted research or development funds in at least two projects since last promotion.
Leadership: Mentor junior faculty and serve on university committees.
Senior Lecturer
Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching as a Lecturer or six (6) years of research/industry experience.
Scholarly Output: Minimum of four (4) publications in reputable refereed journals since last promotion.
Supervision: Supervised at least three (3) master's students to completion.
Funding: Attracted research or development funds in at least one project since last promotion.
Lecturer
Experience: At least three (3) years of continuous teaching experience at the university level, in research, or in industry.
Scholarly Output: Minimum of two (2) publications in reputable refereed scholarly journals.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
An earned PhD or equivalent earned doctoral degree in Finance or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Registered and in good standing with the relevant professional body (e.g., ICPAK) where applicable.
Demonstrated evidence of service to the University and the community.
Evidence of national and international scholarly contributions through conferences and seminars.
