The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit 160 Privates for General Duty. This role is part of a premier agency through which the Government executes an elaborate and comprehensive youth empowerment master plan. Candidates will be involved in various paramilitary and national development tasks across the country.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform general paramilitary duties in accordance with NYS regulations.
Participate in national development projects and community service initiatives.
Support operational activities within the National Youth Service infrastructure.
Maintain high levels of discipline and physical readiness.
Adhere to the commands and directives of superior officers within the General Duty cadre.
Requirements for Appointment
A minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) D+ (plus) or its approved equivalent.
Must have successfully undergone the initial NYS Paramilitary Training.
Be in possession of a National Trade Test, Craft, or Diploma Certificate in relevant technical or vocational courses.
Must have no criminal record.
Must possess a Senior Service Man/Woman (I and II) certificate (specifically required for the General Duty Cadre).

Salary and Allowances: As per the existing NYS Salary Scale.
Medical Cover: Provided under the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants.
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
