Job Description
Kenyatta University is seeking a Personnel/ Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support and manage human resource functions within its hospitality operations. The role involves assisting the General Manager with special projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality assurance to enhance the guest experience. This position is ideal for a professional with a background in hotel administration or human resources who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative assistance to the General Manager by coordinating special projects and initiatives.
Conduct research and gather information to support decision-making and staff performance reporting.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, professional standards, and all legal requirements of the facility.
Monitor guest feedback regularly and implement improvements to enhance service quality.
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from posting vacancies and screening candidates to conducting interviews and onboarding new staff.
Handle sensitive employee and professional information with strict confidentiality and discretion.
Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, resolving conflicts professionally to maintain a positive work environment.
Organize employee engagement activities and implement strategies for talent retention and turnover reduction.
Conduct safety training sessions and promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace.
Requirements and Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Business Management, or a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. (A Master’s degree is an added advantage).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel administrative roles or Human Resource roles, preferably in a 3-5 star hotel.
Proficiency in hotel Memory Soft software is a significant advantage.
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Strong leadership abilities with a customer-focused approach.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Critical thinking, creativity, and innovation-oriented mindset.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
