This role, People and Culture Associate (Data & Analytics and Non-Staff Personnel Services) at UNICEF, is classified as a G-6 level position based in Nairobi. The Associate will be responsible for two key areas: providing robust HR data and analytics to inform decision-making, and managing services for non-staff personnel, including consultants, UNVs, and interns, while also overseeing critical periodic HR entitlement exercises and the administration of UN Laissez-Passers (UNLPs).
Key Responsibilities
Data and Analytics
- Provide accurate and timely HR reports, leveraging tools such as pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUP.
- Offer analytical insights on trends derived from data to inform management decision-making.
- Oversee and manage the staff list for UNDSS for all staff based in Nairobi.
- Analyze, research, verify, and compile data to facilitate the preparation of workforce planning reports for supervisor review.
- Analyze and summarize data from various business systems to generate necessary reports and insights.
- Support the development and implementation of data collection systems to optimize data quality.
- Prepare workforce and staffing data analytics required for various management reports, management reviews, audit reporting, and other needs.
Recruitment of Non-Staff Personnel (Individual Consultants, UNVs, Interns and Standby Partners)
- Oversee the management of individual consultancies, ensuring strict compliance with relevant policies, delivering excellent client service, and adhering to time-to-fill Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Design and provide comprehensive training on the individual consultancy process to all relevant staff.
- Act as the conduit between the office and the Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) to ensure the smooth and effective execution of the non-staff recruitment process.
Management of Periodic Entitlement Exercises and Projects
- Coordinate and oversee the following periodic entitlement exercises:
- Annual drivers medical clearance.
- Long service awards.
- Drivers annual safe driving bonus exercise.
- Continuing appointment exercise.
Administration of UNLPs for all UNICEF staff based in Nairobi
- Provide accurate, client-oriented, and timely processing and renewal of UNLPs for all staff based in Kenya.
- Serve as the country focal point for the global visa desk.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- A secondary education is required.
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace three years of related work experience.
- A master’s degree may replace an additional two years of related work experience.
Work Experience
- A minimum of six years of experience in the Human Resources field is required.
