Liberty Life Assurance Kenya is seeking a Pension Analyst to join their team. The primary purpose of this role is to implement customer retention and communication strategies, ensuring that optimal client service is provided to both direct and intermediate clients. The successful candidate will manage pension schemes throughout their lifecycle, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Account Setup and Management: Confirm the status of new accounts on the system and define rules such as contribution cycles and payment modes.
Client Onboarding: Ensure proper client onboarding to support data accuracy and service delivery.
Contribution Monitoring: Monitor contributions and raise reminders to customers to ensure consistent funding.
Statement Generation: Periodically generate and issue statements for customers, trustees, sponsors, and scheme members.
Annuities Register: Update the annuities register with customer details and set up payment schedules and rules on the system.
Data Reconciliation: Auto-reconcile membership data in the system against contribution schedules.
Regulatory Compliance: Facilitate registration of schemes by the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) and Income Tax (KRA).
Benefit Processing: Evaluate withdrawal applications, confirm benefits due, process withdrawal requests, and generate payment files.
Data Maintenance: Perform data cleaning and verification for new schemes loading and monthly updates.
Stakeholder Liaison: Constantly liaise with service providers (scheme custodians, investment managers) and internal departments (Finance) to ensure timelines for member benefits compensation are met.
Record Keeping: Maintain records of contributing members, deferred and current pensioners.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: University degree in Actuarial Science, Insurance, Statistics, or Business Administration.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience specifically in pensions.
Competencies and Skills
Basic knowledge in claims management.
Knowledge of broker and other distribution channels.
Deep understanding of the Pensions Business and the broader Insurance industry.
Working knowledge of the KRA Act, Insurance Act, and Retirement Benefits Regulations.
Risk Awareness (Reputational, Operational, and Fraud).
Proficiency in Pension Administration policies, processes, and procedures.
Advanced skills in MS Office Solutions.
