The Parts Manager is responsible for the overall management of spare parts operations for Chinese prime movers. The primary objective is to ensure optimal stock levels, timely availability of parts, and efficient support to maintenance and repair teams to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain fleet productivity.
Responsibilities
Manage the procurement, inventory, and distribution of spare parts for Chinese prime movers.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records while implementing effective inventory control systems.
Forecast parts requirements based on fleet usage patterns and maintenance schedules.
Ensure the proper storage, handling, and documentation of all parts.
Monitor parts usage and associated costs, providing reports on inventory performance.
Coordinate closely with workshop and maintenance teams to ensure parts are available when needed.
Implement cost-control and loss-prevention measures within the parts department.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Proven experience in spare parts or inventory management specifically for heavy commercial vehicles.
Good knowledge of Chinese prime movers.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office suite.
Excellent communication and supplier management skills.
