The Mathematics and Physics Teacher for Junior Secondary School at Yatima Outreach Organization is responsible for providing quality instruction in these subjects, ensuring comprehensive syllabus coverage, and fostering positive learning outcomes. This position also requires active participation in the spiritual and co-curricular life of the school, aligning all activities with the organization's ethos of Christ-likeness.
Role Details:
- Ensure coverage of the syllabus, quality of teaching, and effectiveness of learning outcomes.
- Coordinate various co-curricular activities and school-based events in the area assigned.
- Enforce rules for behavior, behavior rectification, school policies, and procedures to maintain order among students.
- Build and maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with parents, guardians, and sponsors.
- Promote Christ-likeness within the school through activities including but not limited to regular devotional and prayer sessions.
- Attend professional meetings and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Keep relevant school records to the required standards as per work demands.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Education, B.Ed Degree, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Kenya.
- 2 years’ work experience.
- Must be CBC-compliant.
- Must be a born-again Christian.
- Must be TSC-licensed.
- Competent in handling the highlighted subject combinations (Mathematics and Physics).
- Be conversant and compliant with Kenyan education systems, standards, trends, the Children’s Act, teachers’ code of ethics, child protection policies, regulations, rights, relevant government policy, and legislation.
- An understanding of the social dynamics of the community and the general geographical area is a distinct advantage.
