Manager Business Development, Medical and Life Business

Key Responsibilities

• Business Acquisition: Prospect for new business from existing Bank customers through Relationship Managers (RMs) and identify opportunities among non-Bank customers.
• Quotations and Negotiation: Prepare and negotiate insurance quotations for prospective customers and manage the sales process through to closure.
• Collaboration: Follow up on business leads from RMs across all Bank segments and conduct joint customer visits with bank relationship teams.
• Operational Coordination: Place coverage with underwriters and coordinate with the underwriting team to ensure that medical cards and policy documents are issued within set Turnaround Times (TAT).
• Product Development: Partner with insurers to develop tailor-made insurance packages that meet the specific needs of customers.
• Awareness and Implementation: Create product awareness across the Bank network and implement new products through various distribution channels.
• Performance Evaluation: Periodically evaluate product performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure business retention and manage the renewal process.
• Renewal Management: Conduct renewal meetings, negotiate terms with insurers based on current client needs, and ensure timely premium payment and remittance.
• Training: Conduct training sessions on existing and new Bancassurance products for Bank Managers, Relationship Managers, and other relevant staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science or a related field.
• Professional Qualifications: Relevant professional qualification such as IIK or ACII.
• Professional Membership: Active membership in a relevant professional body.
• Experience: Up to five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar organization.
