Role Overview
The M&E Project Manager, Global Supply Chains (Coffee) will oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain monitoring and evaluation coffee project delivery, including robust global planning, execution, data analysis, quality assurance, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring alignment with objectives and deadlines. This role involves managing a diverse global team and maintaining relationships with company partners and service providers.
Responsibilities
Project and Team Management
Oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain monitoring and evaluation coffee project delivery.
Lead the development and implementation of detailed team work plans aligned with global project goals.
Manage a global team of at least seven members across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, coordinating M&E field data collection campaigns in 15 countries.
Coordination scope includes third-party enumerator training, data quality assurance, data analysis, and preparation of comprehensive M&E reports.
Assess team capacities and prepare capacity-building plans to strengthen skills.
Ensure internal coordination with other Rainforest Alliance teams (data, thematic experts, field/regional teams, finance) and external consultants.
Maintain and oversee relationships with company partners, M&E service providers, and other key stakeholders.
Oversee campaigns’ budget planning and execution to ensure financial accountability and efficient resource allocation.
M&E Expertise
Contribute to the design and review of M&E systems and indicators.
Oversee regenerative agriculture, carbon emissions, and farm economics analysis reviews with thematic experts.
Coordinate the contextualization of M&E findings with insights from coffee and other sectors using secondary data and field observations.
Oversee the dissemination and communication of M&E results and key findings to partners and internal teams.
Ensure delivery of globally consistent high-quality work and implementation of best practices in data collection and analysis.
Support the global M&E strategy lead in designing and implementing the global M&E framework, including Theory of Change and KPIs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA/MSc/MA) in food systems, agriculture, forestry, natural resources, environmental management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related field and M&E.
At least 2 years’ experience with private sector sustainability activities in the coffee sector or similar commodities.
Very strong strategic planning and organizational skills with experience in international project management.
Proficiency with project management tools; project management certification is desirable.
Strong experience in managing multicultural, global teams remotely.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact culturally and diplomatically with diverse individuals.
Excellent English writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus.
Strong ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally 4-5 times per year (1-2 weeks per trip), with occasional travel to Amsterdam.
Working knowledge of statistics and data analytics (Stata, SPSS, R, etc.) and data visualization software (Power BI, etc.) is a plus.
