This role supports the Kipchimchim Group's agricultural establishments by providing technical guidance, training, and field support to farmers. The primary objective is to improve crop and farm productivity, quality, and sustainable farming practices while ensuring a reliable supply of sugarcane, tea, and related products and services to the mills and the market.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Advisory: Provide technical advice to farmers on best practices in sugarcane, tea, and dairy production, including land preparation, planting, fertilization, pest and disease control, harvesting, and animal husbandry.
Farm Monitoring: Conduct regular farm visits to monitor animal health and crop development, providing on-site guidance and support.
Training: Train farmers on modern and sustainable farming techniques and instruct farm hands on effective animal husbandry methods.
Supply Coordination: Coordinate with contracted farmers who supply produce to the mill and group farms.
Administrative Support: Assist in farmer registration, record keeping, and contract management.
Data Management: Maintain accurate data on animals, farmers, acreage, and expected product supply to ensure supply chain visibility.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agriculture or a related field.
