Ital Global is seeking a qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Litigation Advocate to be based in Nairobi for a leading law firm client. The ideal candidate must be a person of high integrity, hardworking, able to work with minimum supervision, and possess good communication skills.
Role Overview
The Litigation Advocate will handle case analysis, court representation, drafting of litigation documents, and providing legal opinions across civil, commercial, constitutional, judicial review, labor, and land matters.
Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze cases, develop case strategies, and identify procedure rules for various courts and arbitral fora.
Manage procedural aspects regarding pleadings, filing, applications, and hearings.
Draft and review litigation documents, including pleadings, notices, affidavits, contracts, and correspondence.
Provide legal opinions and advice on civil, commercial, constitutional, judicial review, labor, and land litigation.
Conduct consultations with clients and counsel as well as review new legislation.
Attend court sessions at the High Court and Magistrate's Court, offering high-quality legal service.
Conduct negotiations with a view to settling potentially litigious matters.
Grow firm revenue through achieving fee targets and time targets.
Perform research on assigned legal issues, case histories, and documents to ensure accuracy of advice.
Manage attorney practice administrative duties, including file management and electronic time-keeping.
Receive requests for legal advice from current and potential clients and determine appropriate responses.
Attract additional business from new and existing clients.
Qualifications & Requirements
Advocate of the High Court with a valid practicing certificate.
Minimum of two (2) years Post-Admission Experience in a busy law firm with sound knowledge of litigation.
Demonstrated expertise in prosecuting and defending civil, commercial, constitutional, judicial review, labor, and land matters.
An upper 2nd Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university will be an added advantage.
Practical hands-on experience in the interpretation and application of legal texts, statutes, rules, and regulations.
