Kenafric Industries Limited, founded in 1987, is one of the largest manufacturers of Confectionery, Food, Footwear, and Stationery products in Kenya. The company is seeking a dedicated professional to join its Legal & Compliance Department. The role involves maintaining company records, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing contracts, and protecting intellectual property while providing solution-oriented legal advice to management.
Responsibilities
Maintain company records and critical documents to ensure accessibility and compliance.
Ensure regulatory compliance across all business operations and manage timely permit renewals.
Update and review internal policies to align with changing laws and business needs.
Manage the full lifecycle of contracts including reviewing, negotiating, renewing, and filing.
Protect intellectual property and handle trademark issues to safeguard company assets.
Support dispute resolution processes and oversee legal proceedings.
Liaise with external lawyers and provide necessary legal documentation for various cases.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations to ensure the company remains ahead of legal requirements.
Advise management on various legal and compliance matters.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Law, Diploma in Law, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution.
At least two (2) years of relevant experience.
Experience working in a busy manufacturing environment is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in reviewing and preparing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Proficiency in legal research and analysis of complex legal issues.
Proficiency in using MS Office applications and other relevant software.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
