The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit qualified Kenyan citizens for the position of Cadet Officer - Legal Officer (5 Posts). These roles are offered on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service, within the established NYS salary scale, and include medical cover under the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing legal advice and ensuring the agency operates within the legal framework of Kenya while serving as commissioned officers.
General Requirements
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Be between 18 and 28 years of age.
Have no criminal record and be medically fit.
Possess a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution regarding integrity.
Note: Successful candidates MUST undergo intensive NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at the NYS Training College.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Must be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree of Law (LL.B) from a recognized Institution.
Must have a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Must possess a valid practicing certificate from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
