Role Overview\nThe United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking a Landscape Planning and Design Expert. Mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities, UN-Habitat utilizes this role within its Public Space and Urban Regeneration team to provide technical input on urban design and planning. Under the overall supervision of the Team Lead, the consultant will be responsible for technical proposals, data-driven spatial analysis, and project coordination.\n\n### Responsibilities and Duties\n- Provide technical expertise and input for urban design proposals and urban planning projects.\n- Conduct analysis, collection, interpretation, and representation of spatial data and analysis.\n- Perform desk and field research on topics relevant to urban planning projects.\n- Elaborate project proposals and support fundraising efforts for urban planning and urban regeneration initiatives.\n- Advise on and implement participatory processes within the scope of urban planning projects.\n- Advise on and develop materials for events, outreach, communications, capacity-building sessions, and workshops.\n- Develop graphic materials and technical publications.\n- Draft progress reports regarding project implementation, including documentation, knowledge management, advocacy, and outreach.\n- Coordinate project implementation with partners, including follow-up on activities, quality supervision, and donor reporting.\n- Provide technical advice to the Public Space and Urban Regeneration team and broader UN-Habitat initiatives.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in geography, urban planning, landscape architecture, urban development, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.\n- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in the field of urban and territorial planning is required.\n- Proven experience in relevant data analytics is required.\n- Work experience with an international organization is highly desirable.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the UN Careers portal.
