Role Overview
The Investment Manager will focus on identifying and securing co-investment opportunities to drive growth and sustainability in Kenya’s livestock sector. This role requires a keen understanding of the agricultural industry, strong financial acumen, and the ability to foster strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and secure co-investment opportunities within the livestock sector in Kenya.
Utilize financial modeling and valuation techniques to assess potential investments.
Structure transactions and blended finance vehicles to support sector growth.
Manage negotiations and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Travel within Kenya, especially to pastoral counties, to identify and monitor investment prospects.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s Degree (Finance, MBA, etc.) is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in investment management, private equity, development finance, corporate finance, or agribusiness investment.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial modelling and valuation.
Transaction Experience: Proven experience in structuring transactions or blended finance vehicles.
Sector Knowledge: Experience in agriculture or livestock value chains is highly desirable.
Communication: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Kiswahili is desired.
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel within Kenya (pastoral counties) and minimal international travel as required.
