The African Development Bank (AfDB) is inviting applications for its Internship Program, Session 2 of 2026. This specific internship is centered within the Corporate Governance & Advisory Functions department. The AfDB aims to be at the center of Africa’s transformation, improving the quality of growth, promoting inclusive growth, and spurring the transition to green growth. This program provides students with the opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience while contributing to the Bank's mission.
Objectives of the Internship Program
Provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.
Note: Applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the Bank.
Timeline and Work Mode
Commencement: Session 2 of the 2026 Internship Program will start in July 2026.
Duration: 3 to 6 months. The internship is authorized only once for any candidate.
Location: Internships may be remote or on-site based on the needs of the hiring unit. Remote interns must have a personal computer and reliable internet. On-site interns are responsible for their own travel and upkeep.
Terms and Conditions
Medical Insurance: Eligible interns benefit from medical insurance coverage paid by the Bank.
Stipend: Eligible interns will be provided with a monthly stipend.
Visa Support: The Bank will assist interns in obtaining entry and residence visas where necessary.
Eligibility Criteria
Age: Must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of commencement.
Education: Currently enrolled in a Master's level degree program in a recognized institution, OR have obtained a Master's degree within the last one (1) year.
Nationality: Must be a national of a member country of the African Development Bank.
Languages: Fluent in English or French (the Bank's working languages).
Technical Skills: Proficient in standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
