Welcome to Nyeri County, a leading giant in food production and a key player for the central tourism circuit. The County Government of Nyeri is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Internal Auditor II.
Job Purpose
The Internal Auditor II will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes within the county government.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviewing internal control systems in operation and reporting on any weaknesses.
Undertaking specific audit assignments and preparing detailed audit observations and reports as required by the supervisor.
Reviewing budgetary controls on the issuance of authority to incur expenditure and commitments.
Reviewing internal controls on revenue and accounting from time to time and advising on deviations from approved levels.
Ensuring that government assets, plant and equipment, supplies, stores, etc., are appropriately recorded in the relevant registers and are maintained and kept safely.
Performing any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
Be a Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
Hold a KCPE and KCSE Certificate (Attach certificates).
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option) from a recognized institution.
Be in possession of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Part II or its recognized equivalent qualifications.
Have relevant experience of two (2) years and above (Attach evidence).
