Job Description
The Intern, Membership Communications at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) will play a vital role in supporting the Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) in its engagement with government and civil society members. The primary focus of this role is to enhance visibility for member initiatives, facilitate knowledge sharing, and streamline regional membership communications.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and dissemination of Membership Quarterly newsletters and success stories.
Create 'Member Spotlights' for new members and highlight ongoing member initiatives.
Support social media management and develop website content that showcases member projects and impacts.
Assist in the development of comprehensive ESARO member profiles at both regional and country levels.
Provide communication support for regional membership events and webinars.
Produce multimedia content, including short videos, photo stories, and blogs that highlight member impact.
Collect and synthesize stories and updates from members for various communication channels.
Liaise with the broader IUCN Communications team to ensure all output aligns with the IUCN brand and messaging standards.
Prepare quarterly reports on membership communications activities and performance.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the membership and communications team.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.
Experience: Practical experience with social media management and content creation.
Recency: Candidates should have completed their university education within the last 2 years.
