ABC Bank is an indigenous Kenyan bank with 33 years of experience using the power of finance to support businesses and projects that benefit the people and the planet. We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the position of Insurance Sales Officer in Nairobi.
Role Overview
The primary focus of this position is to drive growth in the insurance business across and outside the ABC Bank group channels. This entails execution of day-to-day insurance operations, new business development, cross-selling insurance products, claims administration, documentation, and follow-up on renewals to ensure business retention.
Key Responsibilities
New Business & Cross-Selling: Drive growth in the insurance business across and outside ABC Bank group channels. Cross-sell other Group products, including Liabilities, foreign exchanges, Account Opening, Trade Finance, and Stock Trading.
Daily Insurance Operations: Execute day-to-day insurance operations at the assigned Region level, encompassing new business development, cross-selling of insurance products, claims administration, and documentation.
Renewals and Retention: Perform timely follow-up on renewals to ensure business retention and prevent income leakage.
Internal Lead Generation: Develop strong working relationships with various departments in the group, working closely with Branch Managers, Relationship Managers, & Credit Analysts to generate insurance business and leads through their customers.
Customer Service: Ensure customer inquiries are resolved promptly as per laid-down policies and procedures.
Product Training: Champion insurance product training at the regional branch level to sensitize both group staff and customers on insurance products.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures regarding insurance sales.
Asset Insurance: Ensure all collaterals and assets that have the financiers' interest are properly and comprehensively insured, and the financiers' interest is properly noted.
Debt Management: Ensure that debt levels are managed proactively and maintained minimally in line with the credit policy (40:30:30).
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
University Degree in either Insurance, Marketing, or a business-related field.
Certificate of Proficiency (COP).
2 years’ experience in insurance sales.
