Job Description
The Information Assistant III role at the Public Service Commission of Kenya (PSCK) is an entry-level and training grade. The primary purpose of this position is to support the government's communication efforts through news gathering, information management, and the distribution of official publications. Successful candidates will work under the mentorship of senior officers to develop their skills in public communications and media relations. There are 30 vacant positions for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
News and Feature Writing: Gathering, writing, and dispatching news stories, information, and feature articles for government use and public dissemination.
Information Systems Management: Assisting in the management of information gathering and dissemination systems to ensure data reaches intended audiences efficiently.
Publication Distribution: Overseeing the distribution of government publications and informational materials as directed.
Administrative Support: Providing support to the communications department under the guidance of senior officers.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A Diploma in any of the following Social Sciences: Photojournalism, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication Studies, or Media Studies/Science from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in written and spoken communication.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
