Mirema School, a Christian-based primary school offering the 2.6.6.3/8.4.4 curriculum, International British Curriculum, and Special Needs Curriculum, is seeking a qualified ICT Officer. This role involves implementing ICT policies and standards, managing network and infrastructure systems, maintaining school databases, and providing comprehensive technical support for servers, applications, and related systems.
Responsibilities
- LMS and Academic Management: Execute daily Mzizi tasks related to exams, attendance, and student records.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system issues and escalate unresolved technical problems to the HOD ICT Support.
- Access and Security: Manage user accounts following the principle of least privilege and maintain activity logs. Monitor systems for alerts and conduct regular security scans to ensure data protection.
- Technical and Parent Support: Resolve tier 1 hardware and software queries for staff and learners. Provide remote assistance to parents after verifying identities to ensure secure portal and app access.
- Infrastructure and Network: Perform daily checks on network uptime and security logs while applying firewall updates. Repair hardware and escalate bandwidth concerns when utilization exceeds 70 percent.
- Asset and Lifecycle Management: Maintain an updated ICT asset register through tagging and regular physical audits. Test software patches in staging and monitor service provider performance against SLAs.
- Financial and Resource Control: Track departmental expenses against the budget and report any variances. Optimize resource usage and recommend measures to reduce ICT-related costs.
- Reporting and Compliance: Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on inventory, incidents, and system utilization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business IT, Software Engineering, or ICT project management.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Membership with the Computer Society of Kenya.
- Valid certificate of good conduct.
