Job Description
The ICT Officer is responsible for managing, securing, and continuously improving the SACCO’s ICT infrastructure and information systems in compliance with ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 20000-1, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements. The role aims to ensure the availability, confidentiality, integrity, and reliability of ICT services supporting business operations within a deposit-taking institutional environment.
Responsibilities
Manage and secure the SACCO's ICT infrastructure and information systems.
Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 20000-1, and ISO 9001 standards.
Oversee database administration and manage systems/software architecture.
Support Core Banking or ERP systems (specifically Microsoft Navision) to facilitate efficient financial operations.
Maintain information security and ensure the integrity and reliability of all ICT services.
Apply technical troubleshooting and analytical skills to solve infrastructure and system issues.
Collaborate with teams to drive innovation and system improvements while working independently when required.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic: A Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Work Experience: At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar ICT role within a busy ICT department of a financial institution or a regulated environment.
Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, ISACA, MCSE, CISA, CompTIA, ITIL, or ISO/Information Security related certifications will be an added advantage.
Technical Expertise: Experience supporting Core Banking or ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Navision) is highly desirable. Demonstrable skills in database administration and software architecture are essential.
Mandatory Legal Requirement: Successful candidates must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
