This role involves working as part of the ICT Team, reporting to the Manager - Infrastructure. The primary purpose is to offer comprehensive technical support for ICT Infrastructure related issues across the bank, manage the ABC Bank Data Centre and Disaster Recovery (DR) Site, document technical support procedures, perform network troubleshooting and configuration, manage server creations, and monitor systems rigorously to maintain utmost system uptime.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform the following responsibilities, amongst others:
- Handling of day-to-day ICT issues related to the Core Banking Applications (level 1 & Level 2 support).
- Network System troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving faults.
- Active Directory server administration, support, and management.
- Testing and evaluating new technologies.
- Reports recording and upgrade of systems within ICT infrastructure.
- Monitoring and maintenance of endpoint devices and network devices.
- Installing, configuring, and maintenance of network infrastructure, server environments, and systems for reliable operation of the Data Centre and user affiliated activities.
- Providing documentation and technical specifications to ICT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Performing server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
- Monitoring data centre health using pre-existing management tools and responding to hardware issues as they arise; helping build, test, and maintain new servers as needed. Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and systems performance for the virtual environment.
- Performing or delegating regular backup operations and implementing appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Supporting and implementing network and systems security policies and procedures, systems patching and upgrades, protection against malware, malicious activity, and unauthorized access.
- Sustaining network integrity, server deployment and security, administering email security and data storage environment security.
- Maintaining internal infrastructure resources including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and security updates; supporting internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems, and applications and ensuring they are effectively and efficiently working.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- BSc. Information Technology.
- Minimum 2 year’s banking experience.
- System Administration certifications (desired).
- Networking Administration certifications (desired).
- Network assessment and troubleshooting skills for LAN, WAN, and endpoint connectivity.
- Excellent time management skill.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Self-driven and open-minded attitude and aggressiveness.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
