The HVAC Welder and Technician at Hotpoint Appliances Ltd is responsible for completing HVAC installation projects by fabricating and installing duct supports, AC equipment brackets, hangers, and other structural elements. The role ensures compliance with safety standards and quality workmanship while supporting AC and duct technicians in their installations. The technician will also be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and monitoring assigned welding tasks and ensuring all work complies with applicable codes, QA/QC policies, and project specifications.
Job Responsibilities
Execute welding works as per approved drawings, project schedule, and quality standards.
Assist AC technicians in mounting and aligning equipment, and duct technicians in installing hangers and supports.
Ensure welding works are completed on time to avoid project delays.
Maintain high quality standards and minimize rework due to welding defects.
Follow safety practices, including proper PPE use, fire prevention, and housekeeping.
Track welding tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring proper usage and reporting issues.
Participate in site inspections and progress reviews with project supervisors.
Report any deviations, delays, or site challenges to supervisors in a timely manner.
Coordinate with project team to plan welding works and sequence with AC and duct installation.
Support the team in maintaining overall project schedule and productivity.
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor in support of project execution.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum qualification: Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, or related technical field.
Certification in welding (MIG/TIG/Arc welding) preferred.
At least 3–5 years of welding experience in HVAC or mechanical installations.
Familiarity with duct and AC system installations.
Experience in working with project teams and coordinating with multiple trades.
Key Skills
Proficient welding skills for structural steel, GI, and support fabrication.
Understanding of HVAC systems, AC equipment, and ductwork installation.
Basic blueprint reading and drawing interpretation.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices.
