Role Overview
The Head of Products and Transaction Banking at HF Group is responsible for the strategic direction and management of HFC Bank's product portfolio and transactional banking solutions. This senior leadership role focuses on driving revenue generation through market expansion, ensuring product profitability, and optimizing the retail banking segments (SME and Personal Banking). The incumbent will oversee the development of innovative products, manage costs, and lead a high-performing team to achieve the bank's financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Develop and execute strategies aimed at cost minimization without compromising service standards.
- Drive new revenue generation by identifying and opening up markets for all HFC Bank products.
- Manage and improve overall Retail profitability and departmental cost management.
- Ensure working capital products and channel revenues/profitability targets are met and exceeded.
- Submit and manage departmental budgets, reporting on variances monthly.
- Offer structured, need-based cash management and trade services solutions to meet specific customer requirements.
- Negotiate customer terms and conditions to maximize revenue and minimize revenue leakage or NPLs.
Strategic Leadership
- Launch and manage innovative products and cash management solutions.
- Conduct joint calls with clients to ensure sales targets are met and obtain customer feedback.
- Develop and maintain strong, differentiated product propositions for Retail Lending and Deposits (Business and Personal Banking segments).
- Manage suitable customer value propositions for emerging affluent, affluent, and business customers.
- Implement systems and operational procedures to support sales tracking, MIS, and profitability.
- Manage the card product proposition, including revenue ownership for interchange.
- Formulate and implement business and marketing strategies aligned with Retail Banking goals.
- Oversee internal control systems to minimize credit and operational losses.
Market Acquisition and Engagement
- Establish feedback systems to analyze product performance.
- Set performance standards for acquisition, upselling, retention, and profitability.
- Support sales teams with marketing and promotional initiatives for new business acquisition.
- Initiate cross-selling strategies for existing customers.
People Management
- Provide leadership to the department, fostering a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Manage performance through motivating, coaching, and training staff.
- Ensure leave management and personal development plans are maintained for the team.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited university.
- Master’s degree in Strategic Management, Business Administration, or a similar relevant qualification.
- At least 5 years of banking experience in cash management, transactional banking, or product management.
- A minimum of 2 years experience at Senior Management level.
- In-depth knowledge of Retail products (SME and Personal Banking solutions).
- Proven experience in business planning relating to sales, distribution, and service.
- Strong appreciation of banking operations, corporate, treasury, and retail banking.
