The Head of Transactional Banking - Business Banking is a senior leadership role responsible for formulating and implementing the product strategy and execution plans for the bank's transactional banking suite. The primary objective is to grow the share of the primary banked market, ensure product profitability through revenue and cost optimization, and manage a high-performing team of specialists.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Financial Performance and Management
Formulate and implement product strategy and execution plans to grow the bank's share of the primary banked market.
Implement and support frameworks for the management of product performance across teams.
Coordinate sales targeting approaches in collaboration with Client Coverage and Credit teams.
Provide solutions for complex and critical transactions and projects across different countries.
Ensure product profitability through revenue and cost optimization.
Product Development and Launch
Lead the development and launch of innovative products and services tailored to specific market needs.
Conduct market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and risk profiles.
Build internal and external networks (Industry/Trade Associations, Chambers of Commerce) to facilitate customer lead generation.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders in IT, Risk Management, and Marketing to implement new solutions.
Maintain technical expertise and stay updated with external market developments and strategic implications.
Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements.
Marketing and Sales
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and sales strategies to drive adoption and usage of banking services.
Leverage partner channels and digital marketing platforms to reach the target audience.
Set and monitor clear sales targets across ARO countries.
Oversee sales team performance and implement strategies to optimize conversion rates.
Risk Management and Compliance
Develop and implement a robust risk management framework for the business.
Collaborate with Risk teams to build a quality credit portfolio that utilizes capital effectively for sustainable income.
Monitor and mitigate risks related to fraud, creditworthiness, and data security.
Implement risk-based models and collection strategies.
Data Analytics and Reporting
Implement a data-driven approach leveraging market insights for product development and marketing.
Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track business objectives.
Generate regular reports on customer acquisition, revenue, and risk metrics.
Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
Team Management
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of Transactional Banking specialists.
Ensure team members possess the necessary skills to achieve business goals.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate degree in a business-related field or equivalent academic qualifications.
Over 10 years of banking experience, with the majority in Business Banking (BB) or Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB).
Strong people and sales management skills.
Proven experience in banking operations and transactional product management.
