Head of Programmes

The Head of Programmes at Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB) will lead, develop, and manage the Programmes team to achieve the aspirations of the KSB Strategic Plan 2026–2035 through program development, effective implementation, coordination, technical guidance, and resource mobilization.

Purpose of the Role

• Lead, develop, and manage the Programmes team to achieve the aspirations of the Kenya Society for the Blind Strategic Plan 2026–2035 through program development, implementation, effective coordination, and consolidation.
• Manage effective resource mobilization, prioritization, and allocation of resources for effective work plan delivery to meet the Society's objectives.
• Work with KSB partners and stakeholders to foster long-term relationships to successfully deliver KSB strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Program Planning, Management and Implementation: Oversee strategic program execution and operational alignment.
• Fundraising & Donor Relationship Management: Drive resource mobilization strategies and maintain active donor partnerships.
• Program Reviews, M&E, Learning and Reporting: Lead monitoring, evaluation, and organizational learning.
• Partnerships and Networking: Build strategic relationships with external bodies, government agencies, and NGO partners.
• Financial Management: Oversee program budgeting, resource allocation, and budget performance.
• Human Resource Management: Manage, mentor, and motivate the program team.
• Policy Management and Compliance: Ensure program compliance with relevant policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree from a reputable institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Project Management.
• At least 15 years' relevant experience in project work, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
• Up-to-date knowledge and/or experience in key priority areas and project management.
• Demonstrated robust planning and evaluation skills.
