Job Description
JKUAT Enterprises Limited is seeking a Director, Voter Education & Partnerships to lead the development and implementation of voter and civic education policies, national voter education curricula, and strategic partnerships. The role is responsible for overseeing public engagement, IEC materials development, resource mobilization, and collaboration with government, civil society, and international organizations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop voter education and civic education policies and strategies.
Oversee the development and implementation of a national voter education curriculum.
Oversee the coordination of national and international partnerships.
Develop accountability structures, review voter education and partnership reports, and monitor performance indicators.
Ensure that the Directorate is adequately resourced with professional and competent personnel.
Oversee the development of criteria for civic and voter education providers, accreditation, training, and facilitation of collaborators.
Oversee the development of voter education quality-control measures and ensure timely execution.
Develop resource-mobilisation strategies and advise management on complementary funding opportunities.
Liaise with government and civil society institutions to facilitate voter and civic education.
In coordination with Legal Services and Public Affairs, liaise with the media in implementing voter education.
Oversee the development of information, education and communication (IEC) materials, national voter education campaigns, and programmes.
Oversee the facilitation of regional voter education and civic education programmes.
Advise the Commission on innovative strategies for voter education, civic education, and the promotion of democracy.
Advise management on, and oversee the coordination of, national, regional, and international partnership activities.
Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Project Management, Business Management, Political Science, Human Resource Management, Sociology, Social Work, Development Studies, Communication, Public Administration, Public Relations, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication, Education, or an equivalent qualification.
At least fifteen (15) years’ cumulative experience, three (3) of which must have been at senior management level.
Demonstrated ability in strategy development and execution.
Strong planning and coordination skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to make critical and timely decisions in a highly sensitive environment.
Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
Certificate in Computer Applications.
A leadership and management course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
