The Graduate Assistant in Software Development position provides an opportunity for recent graduates to gain academic, research, and teaching support experience within the field of Software Development. The successful candidate will support high-quality teaching, learning, and research activities within the department.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Teaching and Learning
Assist lecturers in the preparation of teaching materials, tutorials, and coursework.
Facilitate discussion groups, tutorials, or practical sessions as required.
Support the marking of assignments, tests, and examinations under supervision.
Provide academic support and guidance to undergraduate students.
Research Coordination
Engage in research activities, including literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
Assist with research projects, including the preparation of reports, presentations, and grant development.
Administrative and Student Support
Assist the department in maintaining student records and data entry.
Support the organization of departmental activities, including seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and ceremonies.
Perform administrative duties within the department as assigned.
Assist in organizing student activities and provide support services, referring students to appropriate support units when necessary.
Supervise undergraduate interns where applicable.
Attend departmental and faculty meetings as required.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognized university.
A strong academic record (at least Second-Class Upper Division or equivalent); a First-Class degree is an added advantage.
Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program.
Demonstrated interest in research, teaching, or consultancy.
