Information about the Role
KCA University (KCAU) is seeking a Graduate Assistant in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. This role is designed to provide recent graduates with an opportunity to gain academic, research, and teaching support experience. The successful candidate will support high-quality teaching, learning, and research within the department while pursuing their own advanced studies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Assist lecturers in preparing teaching materials, tutorials, and coursework.
Facilitate discussion groups, tutorials, or practical sessions where required.
Support the marking of assignments, tests, and examinations under supervision.
Provide academic support and guidance to students.
Research Coordination
Engage in research activities, including literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
Assist with research projects, including preparing reports, presentations, and grant development.
Administrative and Student Support
Assist departments in maintaining student records and data entry.
Support in organizing departmental activities, including seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and ceremonies.
Support administrative duties within the department as assigned.
Assist in organizing student activities.
Provide student support services and refer students to support services as appropriate.
Supervise undergraduate interns where applicable.
Attend departmental and faculty meetings where required.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognized university.
A strong academic record (at least Second-Class Upper Division or equivalent). A First-class degree is an added advantage.
Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program.
Demonstrated interest in research, teaching, or consultancy.
Proficiency in programming, data analysis, or AI-related tools will be an added advantage.
