This is the entry training grade for the firefighting cadre within the Nakuru County Government. An officer at this level will undergo on-the-job training and work under the supervision of experienced personnel. The role focuses on public safety, emergency response readiness, and the maintenance of essential firefighting equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform simple maintenance of firefighting appliances and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
Assist experienced officers and teams during emergency response cases and fire incidents.
Participate in training exercises and drills to enhance firefighting and rescue skills.
Maintain a high level of physical fitness and readiness for emergency deployment.
Requirements
Education: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade ‘D’ or its equivalent and relevant qualification.
Professional Certification: Fireman II Certificate from a recognized Fire Services Training School/Institution.
First Aid Training: Attended a First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one week at St. John Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT), or any other recognized institution.
Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to perform demanding emergency tasks.
Health: Must be certified medically fit by a government doctor.
