Reporting to the Regional ICT Manager (Technically) and Factory Unit Manager (Administratively), the Field Systems Administrator is responsible for coordinating ICT services within the Factory by providing technical support for all sections. This involves managing infrastructure, servers, and networks while ensuring operational effectiveness and security.
Key Responsibilities
System Analysis & Design: Work with users to analyze workflow, access, information, and security requirements, and design appropriate system infrastructure.
Installation & Configuration: Install and configure servers and application software on all workstations; plan and execute the installation and testing of PC/server hardware and LAN/WAN networks.
Maintenance & Monitoring: Troubleshoot system hardware and networks, documenting problems and resolutions, and providing comprehensive performance reports.
Data Management: Perform and verify daily backups for critical data; manage databases and ensure smooth data replication between the factory and KTDA head office.
Specialized Support: Install, configure, and maintain electronic weighing solutions (EWS).
Policy & Documentation: Support the design and implementation of IT policies; document technical configurations of all installed systems.
Innovation & Upgrades: Scout for and test new technological innovations; identify system upgrades by conferring with vendors and service providers.
Training: Conduct training for factory staff on operating systems, relational databases, and other applications.
Security & Recovery: Manage system access and user accounts; establish and test disaster recovery policies and procedures.
Asset Management: Maintain infrastructure documentation and inventory; assess the adequacy of ICT equipment in the factories.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Professional certifications: CCNA/CCNP/MCSE or related.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar setup.
Technical knowledge of hardware and network installation.
